I have used a Victorinox one hand opening Trailmaster. As my everyday work knife for nearly four years now and find it excellent. The one hand opening blade is easy to use both, left or right handed. The liner lock is secure and easy to disengage.

Having the serrations at the front of the blade means that opening boxes or cutting rope is made much easier than those knives where the serrations at the rear require getting the whole length of the blade into the cut. The serrations also cut easily through the packing tape used on boxes where sometimes even a sharp blade will glide over. It also means the straight part of the blade doesn’t get used very often and so remains sharp.

It has a full length saw blade that cuts wood quickly and neatly. One good thing about the Victorinox saw blades is most stainless steels won’t give a spark off a flint but the back of saw will give a good shower of sparks.

The large screwdriver locks on the other end of the main blade lock. It stops the blade collapsing as you use it which has been a complaint with other Swiss Army Knives.

On this knife the cork screw has been replaced with a Phillips head screwdriver

Can opener. Very effective ( actually we use a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife in the kitchen as a can opener) the tip is shaped so that it fits most Phillips head screws.

Large slotted screw driver blade, with cap lifter ( old style beer bottles) and wire bender ( the little slot in the base of the tool) as I mentioned this one locks as well.

An awl for making holes in leather (or just about anything else for that matter)

Of course it comes with the tooth pick and tweezers.

Generally this knife does everything I ask of it on a daily basis Yeah O.K. it isn’t a Multi tool but I have one of those in my bag but it isn’t needed that often.
